Love Mother Earth just the way you love your Mom

I am sure we all love our Mom to the moon and back. Similarly, it’s time we embrace mother earth and stop burdening her with our waste. I am a nature lover, and it hurts to see mother Earth subjected to harmful practices.

Life is a boomerang, ‘What goes around, comes around.’ Similarly, Dump the Earth, and Prepare to get dumped. The greatest danger to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. So I realized if I need a Clean Future, I need to have a Clean Home and a Clean Planet. That’s when I became part of the local environmental club- Green cycle drive, where I got to explore my surroundings and determine how I could contribute to society. When I took part in the Desert Clean-up Drive, I found it intriguing to clean up the deserts strewn with plastic bottles, fish bones, and cigarette buds. This activity gave me immense happiness and a sense of pride because it helped to protect and beautify mother Earth in my own little way thus contributing to society most positively. It also increased my willingness to keep the environment clean. Recognizing environmental issues like the garbage problem helped me develop my discipline and better understand my role in our planet.

Being part of the Recycling campaign conducted by the Green Cycle Drive also gave me an insight into how something old can be transformed into new, thus benefiting the environment by reducing the waste going to landfills. We were excited to see that about 320 high school environmentalists collected over 9600 kilograms of recyclable materials in 40 days. I realized that recycling is one of the most equitable and accessible ways for the entire community to integrate sustainability into our daily lives, thereby creating sustainable citizens.

So try to litter less and cherish Mother Earth more.
