The desire to play is as old as humanity itself. Back in the day, when we used to ask, "Shall we play a game?" we either imagined playing outside or playing indoor games like board games.
When I was a kid, I loved playing outdoor games like Coco, Hopscotch, etc., which I enjoyed very much. But with time, just like communication, gaming too moved into the digital world. With the advent of computers, video games mushroomed and became more popular. Video games were initially thought to be the domain of couch potatoes, but they offered tangible benefits like healthy brain stimulation, the development of problem-solving skills, and stress relief.
However, my friends and I have recently seen a gradual decline in the use of gaming consoles and an increase in online gaming.
Arguing about which one is better is the kind of debate that lights up message boards – which one is less expensive, has the best visuals, or has the best multiplayer competition?
The biggest advantage consoles have over PCs is that you are guaranteed to be able to play the game upon release with no compatibility issues.
They are easy to use, don't require upgrades, make for simple multiplayer with console-owning friends, are generally cheaper, and use wireless controllers that allow you to have a more active experience.
So we decided to recreate the experience of the gaming console by building a Vintage gaming console out of leftover iPhone boxes, thus stimulating our recycling gene.
